The news has been unbearable recently and I’m in desperate need of hearing something good. So tell me your heart warming stories or good news please before I have a complete mental breakdown Grin

My cousin who has had a disabled daughter her entire life and recently recovered from cancer finally agreed to go away for the week ( first holiday in 32 years- she is lovely and gets support but understandably wants to do a lot for my cousin herself ). Before going her husband looked a critical illness insurance claim as she had been so ill but didn't expect anything from it because he knew very little about it. His employer kind of insisted he did it and when they got home they had a cheque for 100k on the door mat. Paid off the remainder of her mortgage :)

My teenage nephew has recently been diagnosed with a very rare form of cancer. Not only has he just been accepted into a very competitive sports team, he has also just found out that the NHS have approved his request to take a revolutionary and life saving drug, instead of having radiotherapy. He is so brave and certain and I am so proud of him.

@DrierThanANunsNasty Thank you so much for starting this thread, the news has been so awful for the past few days, it has been hard not to see the world as anything other than dark and bleak.

And thanks to all you posters for sharing your news.

After a year long, highly emotive, and sometimes stressful process, I am due at panel next week to hopefully become a fully approved adopter. Everyone is highly positive of my odds, and family finding has already commenced.

Feels all the more poignant after the horrific things I’ve read and seen over the past weeks.

What a wonderful thing to do. Some lucky child will get you for their mummy. Good luck with the panel.
