Does household have to isolate if 4 year old has symptoms? WALES

Posting for traffic sorry
Have googled but can’t find the answer
In wales under 5s don’t have to get PCR or complete 10 days isolation if they have covid symptoms. They just have to stay home til symptoms have passed.
Household has to isolate and get a PCR if a household member has symptoms, but what if the symptomatic person is under 5?

It's not at all clear on the government pages which is ridiculous!

Public Health Wales says no, you don't need to self isolate according to their infographic but I imagine school/childcare would ask you to stay away for 10 days at least.

Hope you child isn't too unwell.

I take that flow chart to mean the under 5 doesn’t have to isolate if they have symptoms? But can’t find anything to say what the rest of the household has to do if it’s the under 5 that has symptoms

My understanding is that you would need to get a pcr for the rest of the household and isolate until you get the results. If its negative you no longer need to isolate.

Sounds like you just ignore it for under 5s then if they haven't said anything. Which seems silly.

Yes just ignore it and send them to school. Crack on for under 5s. About time they did it for everyone too!

The gov page says they have to stay home while they have symptoms but can go back as soon as they’re better, which is doesn’t say on that flow chart. It’s just a snotty cough, typical December germs!

Assuming nothing has changed in the policy due to Omicron, then no, but, your work place policy may be different. In my role in the NHS we have to go on to no patient facing duties in this scenario.
