Father Christmas question...

Bit long: bear with me.

When I was little, Father Christmas presents was the stocking/bag at the end of my bed. Then all the other presents from relatives were just that, presents from THEM.

Now, my DH's family do this weird thing where EVERYBODY'S presents get delivered from Father Christmas. They 'send' their gifts to Father Christmas to deliver on their behalf.

Am I being mean-spirited when I say I don't agree with this and don't want our DS to do this.

I think the stocking is the Father Christmas presents and then everything else is from who it is from.

Am very confused and prob not explaining properly but I want to stamp my feet and >!

What do you all do?

I do the same as the OP. Santa has enoguh to do without being a postman too!
I have gone into the story of St. Nick with the kdis though, so they understand the ideas behind it.

We don't have any 'belief' in FC, but during the afternoon he pays us a visit (courtesy of ds1 who at the age of 3 decided he would do this) and he delivers a present to everybody. Of course he has to leave ds1's present for when ds1 gets back (as he has just popped out for a minute).

It works well, and you can see dd really 'believing' it really is FC, although she knows full well it is ds1 dressed up! I always bang on about this at Christmas, but it is almost more magical than them 'believing' in a mythical FC, as it is their own creation. I'll post a pic on my profile of ds1 as FC.

When I was little we had a stocking from FC, in the living room, a main present from parents, presents under the tree from relatives, then a second FC stocking at my Granma's house.

Have put a pic on of ds1 as Father Christmas. He always rings his little sleighbell things outside the door, so we all have to shout 'Can we hear something?'....

I always find it funny that SANTA can also be spelt as SATAN.

Would it not be funny if all those Santa stop here signs where misprinted to Satan stop here.

Ok I hate santa claus, and the easter bunny.

It's a suprise kids don't rumble the whole FC thing earlier considering how different everyone's traditions are!

Both me and DH had different childhoods re presents so made our own "best of".

Stocking downstairs is from FC and is simple token gift, everything else under the tree is from relatives and friends. That way people get thanked. We visit family on Christmas day and they get their presents from them then. It is a big exchange.

My mate makes out that ALL presents are from FC meaning her children have no concept of a budget at Christmas as it is all for free!!!!
