Hospital appointment with covid symptoms

DH and I have had a difference of opinion. I've been ill with COVID symptoms (persistent cough with difficulty breathing, high temp headaches, sleeping a lot) for over a week. I've had negative lateral flow and PCR. I have an appointment which was scheduled before this but wanted others opinion on this.

Would you go to said hospital appointment or postpone? The next appointment may not be for a few weeks as a result and, for example, broken arm not reviewed until then.

I'd just go. It's quite normal to have a cold this time of year and you've had a pcr for the symptoms.

8 days ago. Not a current PCR. 🙄

Get another pcr. My first one when I was symptomatic was negative. Didn't get a positive until 3 days later when my condition deteriorated

I didn't go. Whatever the illness, it's not nice and wouldn't have been fair.

I tried to get another PCR test but website says it was too long ago now. Only circumstances apparently are if you are asked to or for trial purposes.

I wouldn't have gone either, OP. I think going places with a bad cold now isn't really as acceptable as it once was, because passing it to other people can now necessitate Covid tests, missed time off work, etc. and be extremely disruptive.

There's a balance to be found as yes colds are common, and if it was just a sniffle I would go to something depending on what it was. But a bad cold in a medical setting, no. I don't think it's acceptable outside of emergencies (and I've just cancelled my own appointment for tomorrow because we all have bad colds).
