AIBU to go back to my lower paying job?

I'm currently taking a gap year off studying. Aiming to start a new course in September and just started a job in an office. Basic admin work, very little socialisation, very private and keep-to-yourself environment.

Three months in and I hate it. Rigid 9-5, hard to get days off, back kills from sitting all day, head constantly hurts from staring at computer screen and my migraines have trebled.

AIBU to quit and go back to working my lesser paying Hospitality job until September? This job pays substantially more, but I'll be leaving in September anyway, it has no career progression and I miss the flexibility, ability to work less hours if I choose and the social side.

I don't have debt or kids- My finances won't change between now and September and quite frankly the extra money isn't worth how unbearable I find this office.

Do it.

Fuck that.

Whatever makes you happy is what I say.

Life is too short. Quit and be happy!

Do it. If you can afford it why not.

If you can afford it, do it

Go for it!

I moved from a stressful middle management job where I could never switch off, and had sooooo many responsibilities, and often worked 50 hours a week. (15 of them at home!)

I changed to an 18 hour a week, more basic job, which was much less pay - I dropped from like £44K down to £29K. (about 7-8 years ago.) And as I do half a week, my pro rata pay is £14.5K. But I have never been happier. DH earns well, (roughly the same as I was on,) and we became mortgage free 9-10 years ago, so it was possible for me to do it.

It is a 'staff' position and not hourly paid though, so I get paid for sick time and always get the same £1150 a month for my 18 hours a week. With hospitality, your pay will vary.

And before anyone asks/says 'how come YOU went part time and your DH is still full time?' He is happy as he is and enjoys his job.

Don’t really understand why you’re asking!

No money trumps happiness I couldn’t get out fast enough if I were you. Being miserable is never worth it but especially not when you really have no good reason to put yourself through the excercise.
