To be finding part time work more stressful than full time?

Anyone else had this?

I reduced my days to 3 a week instead of 5. I have a preschooler at home on my days off and both dcs at weekends. I'm shattered! Thought this would be nice for the kids, but I'm no fun at all.

I'm falling behind a bit at work as well.

Thinking I've made a mistake really and maybe should consider full time again.

I do 32 hours over 5 but refuse to do over as don't get paid for it but I do have a FT workload really. I have taught myself not be feel guilty.
Too busy to work more and want to be home some days after 3 for the kids who have bonkers schedules. But in 2-3 years they'll be full on teenagers

I do 4 days, typically overtime means I actually work full time but I don’t really mind because I don’t want to give up my day off.

I took the job as it paid 20% more so net net I wasn’t losing out despite working fewer hours (in theory). I also work from home 3 days.

That will change in the new year and the commute will really add to my issues with not being able to do pick up and drop off.

3 days would be impossible in my industry and I wouldn’t even attempt it.

Yes. The trouble with so-called "part time" is that employers don't really understand that you are actually part time, and try to load a full time job into your hours - and full time co-workers don't understand it either.

@MrsPinkCock

Working part time means you end up taking on almost 100% of the household tasks, plus about 3/4 of a weeks worth of work in 3 days, unless you have a job where people understand that you should be allocated 3/5 of the work.

As a lawyer working a four day week, I ended up doing more hours than FT staff because I had the biggest caseload of anyone in my department Hmm

YANBU. It’s crap!

Yep - have heard versions of this from half a dozen friends. PT is not always the answer
