To ask the neighbour to move his rubbish?

The young fella next door had a biggish pile of rubbish on his drive, boxes, old bits of furniture, some other junk. It's been there a few months the so I don't think he intends to do much with it.

I don't know him at all, the rest of us are quite neighbourly but he keeps to himself, which is grand of course.

Would I be completely unreasonable to ask if he's planning on moving it? My only concern is that it looks like a lovely cosy home for rats, and I'd hate the fuckers to take up residence then come in to my garden as well.

I thought I was perfectly reasonable, but when I mentioned it to my Dad he was horrified and said I couldn't possibly be after saying something.

What do you think?

I would ask him in passing and if he shrugs and doesn't say much I'd say to him something like "just so you know I heard someone was going to report you as it could harbour rats, so you might want to get it moved to stop you having any hassle" then you sound like you're on his side and want to help and it might give him the kick up the arse he needs. I have tried this before and it worked Wink
