FSM Vouchers

Hi. Has anyone used the vouchers successfully recently even though they were given last year in lockdown?

I mislaid some and have now found them but don't want to use them if they're out of date. I know I could 'phone the shop but don't really want to be told no when it could be a yes if that makes sense.

Surely it will say the date on them?

Guardsman18 · 23/11/2021 13:54

Well they do but a few people used them for last Christmas when I think the expiry date said 30/08/20.

If you get in touch with the school who issued them, they can re-issue them with new dates. Schools are encouraged to do this.

Thanks @mygrandchildrenrock. They came from the LA though and they don't seem very helpful now that I am not a 'client'.

I thought someone might know hence the post but I'll probably wait until I have some money in the bank, do a shop and then if they don't go through, I'll pay for the shopping that way. Seems such a waste if I can't use them - for me anyway!

If you converted them to shop vouchers then yes they will have 2 years. The original vouchers pre-exchange I think were 6 months

mygrandchildrenrock · 23/11/2021 14:58

It would be a shame if you can’t use them, so fingers crossed for you.

HarrietsChariot · 23/11/2021 15:05

Surely the point of the vouchers was to provide food in the immediate term. Not be stored to be spent months or years later when the person's circumstances might have changed.

Thanks *@mygrandchildrenrock*. They came from the LA though and they don't seem very helpful now that I am not a 'client'.

Why are you no longer a "client". Are you not entitled to FSM anymore?
Guardsman18 · 23/11/2021 15:24

Thanks Harriets. I knew there'd be one! I suppose morally you have a point but given that I have no work, don't claim anything then I just thought Tesco could afford the hit. Son didn't starve.

He's no longer at school but I'm just as poor as I was then.

I didn't save them. I have just found them.
