To ask for examples of good eulogies

My family and are heartbroken by a recent bereavement. I’m going to write and read the eulogy at the funeral and really want to do a good job and make it a fitting tribute. I think I’d like to make it about all our favourite memories rather than a life story.

Does anyone have examples of some really good ones? Or have you ever heard one that you thought was amazing - if so, what about it made it so good?

There's very helpful advice on the Co-op funeralcare website. I was initially dismissive of the idea of using something like that to help me but it really did. I read at my dad's humanist funeral and the celebrant was also very helpful with times etc. So sorry for your loss.

Hello, so sorry for your sad loss. It sounds lovely to make it about favourite memories!

Thank you both - I’ll take a look at the Co-Op.

one where the widow asked a representative from work, hobby, family and friend to speak- each had a unique and heartfelt perpective and an anecdote and memory to share, they revealed a well-rounded and multifaceted individual whose broader character was celebrated- widow also asked everyone for their written notes to keep which has been a lovely treasure for her to keep and recall some of his previously unknown qualities.

all sympathy for your loss Flowers
