Superglue advice!

I have already been unreasonable not to check this in advance but I need advice now!
I tore a jacket, weatherproof outer layer tore a little bit away from the fleecey wool lining. Only a small tear but I didn't think the weatherproof outer layer would sew well so I just superglued it down.
The superglue got hot! I worried, then I googled, and found "superglue chemically reacts with cotton or wool to generate enough heat to start a fire".
It's dry now and not hot anymore. Is this ok now? Should I worry that it will combust and burn my house down? When I wear it will I generate friction that will cause it to catch fire?
(I feel stupid)

You need to call the police OP, who will alert the Fire Services to form an official evacuation of all the houses on your street.

It’s fine now - it’s the initial reaction you need to be careful of buy now it’s cold and dry it really is fine x

Oh god, thanks both, I will take the second advice and bear the first one in mind Grin
Apologies everyone for misusing AIBU, it gets a quick response. (Mumsnet, feel free to delete me.)

The heat is caused by an exothermic reaction. Once it’s cooled down the reaction has finished. This is a known chemical reaction that happens when you use superglue on cotton & certain types of materials.

Relax, it won’t set on fire now it’s cooled down. But don’t do it again! Grin

I will definitely never do it again Confused
