I'm hoping I may get some good advice from wise ladies on what to do next.

I'm 46, started bleeding heavily on Friday night with a woosh while working late, managed to get home but was in a real mess when I got there.

Really bleeding heavily over Friday night and Saturday with big clots, soaking through lots of PJs, rhythmical strong pains ( thought I was having a miscarriage)

Rang 111 on Sunday spoke to a nurse who said I should go to A&E to be on the safe side- I really don't want to go there I work in my local hospital and know you can wait up to seven hours to be seen at the moment. Ok she said I'll book you into a UTC, shortly afterwards get a call from
them saying they can't help me and I shouldn't go there- if it gets worse go to A&E or call GP in the morning if it stabilises. Do a pregnancy test.

Did a PT and it's negative, tried to call GP this morning but all appointments are full till tomorrow, ( have to call back at 8am) therefore I booked myself a private gynae appointment for tomorrow afternoon so I'll guarantee to see a doctor ( ironic as I work for the NHS)

Today bleeding has slowed but over the last two hours I have a pain in my right side( similar to ovulation but slightly stronger) this wouldn't normally worry me but due to the bleeding I'm started to get worried.

I really don't want to go to A&E bleeding and have to wait 6 hours on a trolley to be seen- can I wait to see the consultant tomorrow?

@RainbowBriteUk - delighted to see that they've stopped prescribing Norethisterone long term. I had it for about a year & got DVT - A&E Doctor said immediately the it was the probable cause, GP refused to acknowledge it.
