Life insurance?

AIBU about our life insurance? Took it out for the first time last year through our mortgage broker and it's £60ish a month for me + DH for life insurance & critical illness cover. This seems really high to me, but don't really know anyone else who has life insurance who I can ask! What do other people pay roughly? We are early 30s and no major health conditions.

A dangerous question? No one should pay for insurance they don't need.

Very few people don't need it. By asking that question the people that do need it start to second guess the advice they've been given and inevitably end up in a mess later on. Just my tuppence worth anyway.

If you can afford CIC now, don't ever give it up. It'll only get more expensive. By all means shop around, but don't cancel it. It's less than a sky subscription per month

Im a single mum on now and I pay £16 a month for £100k life insurance 20 year plan, just so my sister has enough to raise my kids to adults if the worst should happen to me and get them through uni .

I have a mortgage but no DC and can't get either Sad due to a medical condition
Apparently it's classed as a critical illness, I'm in a FB group and all of us have been rejected for life insurance and critical illness cover

If her DH has a year of critical illness cover through his employers then they possibly are covered twice for that period and there possibly are savings to be made.

Critical illness cover is very expensive, but the reason it's expensive is because the odds of using it are uncomfortably high.

Statistically you're more likely to suffer critical illness than death during the term of your mortgage. It covers so many things; my neighbour's mortgage was paid off in full when he had testicular cancer even though he was back at work within a couple of months.

Shop around for best deals but keep an eye on what is covered/excluded.
