AIBU to want to buy a birthday card in November?

Because Tesco obviously think so. I'll admit I've left getting a card for DS's friends birthday til the last minute, but I do the weekly shop on a Sunday, so knew I'd get something in Tesco before it is required tomorrow. Except, half the card area now has individual Christmas cards in and the majority of the rest were for specific relations or ages. There were about 15, mainly alcohol related ones, in the generic section.
So, AIBU, or are Tesco BU?

Our family unit of 3 have birthdays in December & February. Limited amount of choice for us too.

frankly I can’t say your experience has matched mine. There’s plenty of birthday cards in the shops, I have managed to find even niche cards this week such as “new job” and “congrats on your engagement” ones

Though I do agree that the Christmas overload has started too early

Generic cards are getting worse and worse. Not helped by the ever expanding cards that don't really reflect reality. I.e so much of the shop it taken up with cards to grandmothers e.g.nanna grandma, nanny granny ect (it seems there are fewer names for grandfathers. Plus often aunties and uncles have children living with them so the auntie and uncle cards that just mention how wonderful they are is a bit hmm.

I would love there to be more non gendered generic cards for birthdays and Christmases as the current choice is terrible.

Several November and December birthdays in our family. I tend to buy cards throughout the year, kept in a fancy tin, to save any frustrating shopping trips.

Ds is a November birthday I order moon pig cards for just that reason!

My mum is very organised and buys all cards for the end of the year by September knowing they will disappear when Christmas appears

I always find this too. Between October and January I have my both dcs birthdays, my mum, my dad, my sister, my close friends x2, and another relatives. Its always a real pain unless I'm organised!!
