To be sick of lazy movie remakes! (90s classic film gets a 2021 British makeover).

Who even asked for this? Who thought this was a good idea? The reviews have been overwhelmingly negative from what I’ve seen.

I saw the main character in JoJo Rabbit and he was good in that. But this just looks plain awful though.

Thoughts?

You can’t compare stage plays to remakes of films. They are two separate things as film versions are often seen the “ definitive” version. ( Pretty Woman is an appalling film and shouldn’t be mentioned in the same sentence as My Fair Lady or Pygmalion)

There are some classic films that would be great re released with some digital remastering and just a touching up of some of the SFX. Heck, it worked with the original Star Wars trilogy - apart from the Jabba the Hutt scene.
Just think about it - Terminator 1 gets re released but now the cheap rubbish puppets don't look cheap and rubbish any more but it's still the same brilliant film! I'd see that in the cinema over the endless turgid sequels after T2.
Hollywood never learns, does it? The vast majority of remakes end up hated by everyone.

I shall refuse to watch this. I will not have the original sullied by it
