To think that very few celebrities have the 'x factor'

not an intellectual thread
Especially not most of those who won the show?! I remember the year 1direction were in it, my friends and I used to watch it before going out. We used to talk about the curly haired one, he wasn't that good looking, wasn't the best singer or the best dancer but my god was he mesmerising. Even my mum commented on him. Now he's the only one out of that insanely popular band with any semblance of a career.
It makes me think how few celebrities there are with that utterly mesmerising, star quality, where they're the only person you pay attention to on stage. It's hard to distinguish this from talent, obviously you pay attention to someone with an amazing voice. But that's not enough on it's own, as poor Leona found out.
I used to think it about Corrine Bailey Rae too, she was just so unique in tone and beautiful, but then she faded into oblivion so i mustn't have been in the majority.

Who has the X factor for you?

For me, Harry Styles has something quite alluring, but I think it’s more he’s always smiling. Always seems happy and seems like a nice bloke.

He seems to push the boundaries with clothes etc, had the long floppy locks and struck up friendships with people who were very ‘in fashion’ at the time.

As for Madonna. She’s not particularly attractive, she doesn’t have the best voice but she keeps reinventing herself so that’s why she’s different. But like last gaga. It must take some effort. I don’t think Lady gags has charisma at all. When I’ve seen previous interviews, she hardly speaks. That’s not charismatic, it’s just trying to be different.

Again, it’s all subjective.

Agree! But you get looked at like you have 6 heads when you say it.

Amy second album was great. The first one was amateurish.

I saw her near camden tube station once and they didn't look healthy. Interestingly without the security guards they would have blended in.

I don't really follow music but imo I think Eminem, and Will Smith have charisma.

Barack Obama and Michelle definitely have it in spades.

Princess Diana had 'it'.

Old Hollywood Clark Gable as Rhett Butler!!!! Man was oozing IT.

Elizabeth Taylor, of all the actresses of Old Hollywood I think only she had 'it'.

On the other hand, you've got the tortured genius types who are popular partly for not being the Saturday night star types. Thom Yorke, Kurt Cobain, Robert Smith, etc.
