Should OH be picking up the slack?

I don't know if their is something wrong with me. I worked full time before DC's and was fine but then I guess I didn't have to come home from work and carry on going. I am struggling with working 9-5 nothing is getting done.

I work from home 9-5 high pressured role and crap salary! I am 5 months pregnant with my third so I am exhausted anyway.

OH is self employed and manages his eBay business around the kids. He will do drop offs and picks up and put a wash on but that is it.

My house is constantly a mess nothing is being done. I am coming downstairs at 5 to a shithole dirty house a sink full off plates and over loaded washing basket. No dinner ready so I am having to start cooking at 5pm.

He has hours in the day where he can be really cracking on with things and he isn't doing it.

He will even get into bed and start trying to have a conversation with me whilst I'm working.

I don't feel like he is doing enough? AIBU? Should I be doing more?

I think you know the answer to this OP! Of course he should be doing more. In fact, he should be doing at least half, if not more. Has he always been like this?

Eltonsglasses · 11/11/2021 23:16

No he should not be 'picking up the slack' - that implies all the work is yours. He should be doing his fair share and working with you.

RandomMess · 11/11/2021 23:16

Are you getting equal leisure time?

Skiptheheartsandflowers · 11/11/2021 23:18

He definitely needs to do more. If you're both working, things should be split. So every other day he gets dinner sorted, for example.

SickAndTiredAgain · 11/11/2021 23:20

Are you joking? Of course he should be doing more!

I just feel like he is so fucking lazy he will drop the kids off in the morning then spend hours going round the shops looking at rubbish. But then will come back home with nothing for dinner.

His job isn't hard work though, he buys and sells after everything is posted in the morning he can manage his admin through the day. It doesn't need 100% all the time.

Obviously, yes. And you shouldn't have to ask.

He is sat on the sofa now snoring with his stinky feet on the cushions it makes me sick. Now I've got to go and do a full clean off the house before I go to bed and be up again for 7 to get the kids ready/ breakfast then work again for me.
