To want to SCREAM at the stupid bint from Principles Customer Service?

And if anyone thinks I am, go away

I am going to explain the situation, and if anyone feels it is not clear, please (no really) let me know and I will not scream at her.

I ordered 2 pairs of trousers total cost £80.95. The first time, the payment process did not complete, no confirmation page came up, payment not authorised. So I did it again, this time it worked.

It seems both orders went through, despite only one payment being authorised. I contacted them. It was too late to stop it but the lady assured me that payment for the second order would be immediately refunded and the second parcel stopped at the couriers to avoid me having to send it back.

This all happened no problem, fine and dandy.

I received the trousers, one pair was fine, one pair was not. I returned the pair that was not. I received an acknowledgement of them and confirmation via email that £42 would be refunded to my account. It has not been, 6 working days later.

Stupid bint from customer services is refusing to understand and keeps saying that the £80.95 has already been refunded. I KNOW THAT YOU SILLY MARE. I want my £42 which is confirmed on the email I am forwarding to you! Arrrrrrgrgrgghhhhhhhhhh!!!

Am having bad day.

No YANBU. I hate it when people just don't get it, especially when its done all over the phone..and then having to explain yourself endlessly....arghhhhhh. You could lose the will to live......

You have my fullest sympathy.

flowerytaleofNewYork · 13/12/2007 14:22

thank you

It's actually phone and email, which is even worse, it's there in black and white and words of one syllable in front of her as well as me saying it slowly and clearly.

Oooh its getting my hackles up just hearing it...I'm getting angry for you now! There's nothing worse, its sometimes like you're just talking to yourself and they have no comprehension of the words that are coming out of your mouth..or in this case on screen.

Someone else has just started a thread about a bad day in Currys..you need to get together and have a good rant to get it off your chests!

flowerytaleofNewYork · 13/12/2007 14:41

I take it all back. I just spoke to her. They have refunded me everything so I now have one pair of free trousers.

time your phone calls and say you're sending an invoice for the cost f the call and your time (depending on what you do for a living...say "15 mins at £20 per hour"0 works a treat, i tell you.

SantasLittleToiletFlusher · 13/12/2007 14:46

No!! You mean you got me all fired up for nothing!!!

UnquietDad · 13/12/2007 14:51

minou - Does it work? I tried that with BT - when I was without Internet for 4 months (4 months! It felt as if I had lost a limb) last year thanks to their incompetence. I made 23 calls to their "help"desk. Wrote 3 letters asking for compensation for loss of earnings and got nowt. I just got trapped in what seemed to be an endless loop of email form-filling.

Domesticgodlessyoumerrygents · 13/12/2007 14:54

Uqd- Go to OFCOM. They have a rather annoying 'conciliation' process you have to go through, but you will get at least something that way.

I did it re. Pipex'Devil ISP' Homecall last year and got my enormous, spurious bill cancelled & £50 compensation. NOt as much as I actually wasted in time terms, but still enough to hopefully piss them off.

UnquietDad · 13/12/2007 15:09

I've got the feeling I tried Ofcom at the time of the internet problem and they weren't able to do anything as it wasn't a "dispute". However it may be different now. Means dragging up something which is 18 months old though...

Swedes2Turnips1 · 13/12/2007 15:41

Don;'t you love these communication companies that you can't communicate with? I have an O2 contract. If you look at the website they don't have a phone number that you can contact them on. Bizarre.

minouminou · 13/12/2007 15:45

UQD...depends who you're dealing with. It generally works better with smaller (ie, less bureaucratic nightmare-ish) companies.
I've never had to send one of my famous invoices yet!
Oh...i often record calls on my mobile, and tell the person I'm doing this.
Makes me sound like a right get, but as long as you're not too unpleasant (ie, don't swear, sound angry....crack the odd joke) it works.

Domesticgodlessyoumerrygents · 13/12/2007 15:59

If it is 'not a dispute' all that means is that you haven't opened one, which you do by sending the official complaint letter (marked OFFICIAL COMPLAINT, etc) and keep a file of correspondence which you then copy to Ofcom.

Good news to OP

flowerytaleofNewYork · 13/12/2007 16:08

I feel I ought to start an 'I heart Principles really' thread!
