Hi All

AIBU to think that a ticket company has no solution better than this?

Bought 2 x Ed Sheeran tickets as a Christmas present for my daughter. I have no way of actually transferring them to her. So it look's like I will have to go up to Wembley on the day of the concert to get them in?

Email response from Eventim.

*Hi

Thanks for getting in touch.

The matching ID of the surname of the lead booker will be an entry requirement, the other tickets bought by that person can be used for other people as long as they ALL arrive with the lead booker. If you want to buy as gifts then you’ll also have to attend to get your recipients into the show.

Kind regards,

EVENTIM UK Customer Care Team*

I hate scalpers and touts but how do you buy tickets for anyone anymore.

Also who did you buy through, Eventim directly? If they have an app put it on your daughters phone and log in to it with your details - she then has the tickets on the app on her phone

@Straightomyhead

Twenty One Pilots > Ed Sheran
And sold out! Although they will have to be listened too now - funny how you discover new music.

This might be the work of a genius!!!!

@Beachtrip

So if the ticket is in the app, can you log into the app on her Device and she just shows the QR thing? Most ticket checkers aren't gonna question much more then that, too many people to scan and get inside
Was reading the thread from the bottom so replied to the other poster who suggested this. I could give her some form of my ID to verify if she gets questioned. Great idea

yeah just give her a bank card with your name & the app on her phone and you will be spared the horror of a night out near Wembley Stadium!

nancy75 · 11/11/2021 13:09

Has she been to anything at the stadium before? If not might be worth warning her in advance of what an absolute nightmare it is when you leave - that 5 minute walk to the station is a 30 min crawl of misery on the way out

Metallica did this on a tour a couple of years ago. By the start of their first song, long after the support band had finished, the queue to get in was still leading outside of the O2 because checking ID was taking so long. Eventually after several hundred people expressed their deep satisfaction over they abandoned the exercise and let people in.

Good idea. Poorly executed.

It is a good idea to stop touts but then how can any venue expect to check thousands of ID's and get people in on time - whats the O2, 20,000 people? you'd have to open the doors a lunchtime to get everyone in! Easier if they just shut down sites like viagogo that make it so easy to resell the tickets for ££££

Still remember my parents took themselves off to a cinema in Milton Keynes after dropping me and my friend off for our first gig (Bon Jovi, 1993). Am guessing there might be one near Wembley..?

Fingers crossed it all gets sorted for you and your daughter and you don’t actually have to make the trip yourself. Great Christmas present!
