DS and DSS never follow things through!

I am at the end of my tether with both of them! When they were younger they both brimmed with potential but as they entered their 30s they have definitely stalled. They talk a good game, long convos on collaboratig on projects but always hazy on details and following up.

Most recently they have talked about founding a company. That's it! The rest is sketchy as hell. They mentioned working investments, security, music media and research? None of it in any detail, when pressed on it by me they went on about doing some groundbreaking research on bees.

My DH is totally fed up with the pair of them. I want to help them but still feel quite let down their lives have so far totally stalled. Advice?

They still live at home, although we would love it if they moved out. They have had job interviews but there is a definite disconnect there. They did one interview in dinner jackets, they knew they were smart jackets but didn't quite realise inappropriate

You are funding them, keeping them and, like all children, they are just pootling along.

Pop them out of the door with instructions not to come back with magic beans or a talking cat.

Are they claiming unemployment benefits? That will force them to get or job or lose money? They make you apply for them or you’re in trouble.

There seem to be plenty places hiring just now but their lack of experience could be an issue.

They need to get a job. Any job.
No picking and choosing and pissing about. They are spoiled and ungrateful and unappreciated of the lifestyle they have that your hard work is affording them. You have to be hard on them. Like you should have been over a decade ago quite honestly. You’re too soft OP. Sorry but you need to woman up and get tough on them.

Get them into benefits. Make sure they have no extras like convenience meals, crisps and sweets, magazines or branded deodorants so they aren’t having a cushy number. They have to save if they want nice stuff. Hide your nice stuff so they can’t pinch it as they will try as they are ungrateful.

Take some digs money from their benefits, as in real life that’s what living in benefits is like. You have barely any money. This is what forces people to work. You want stuff you get a job.

Switch off the broadband router during the day and when you go to bed so they are bored and not up all night gaming. The only time they get it on is to apply for jobs and at weekends. And not just one job a day, multiple. Which you will check their emails for.

Life has to be so shit they are effectively forced to get employment. It’s the only way they will get the finger out. You know this is true.

And if they don’t like the level of interference from you, they can GET A JOB!
