Vienna, Salzburg or Munich - where to go in December?

Posting for traffic, please forgive me.

Choosing a destination for a 4-5 day trip before Christmas. The idea is either Vienna or Salzburg+Munich. Travelling with 2 teens (14 and 18).

If you have been to any of the above, any advice/recommendations please?

Vienna.

I am in Germany and Bavaria is one of the regions with a high incidence rate at the moment. It was recently announced that this year’s Christmas market in Munich will be cancelled. I wouldn’t teavel to Munich at the moment.

Do not go to any of those two countries. Covid is high and they will probably go in the red list soon.

The Uk red list is empty ATM, despite there being many countries with much higher rates of Covid than Germany or Austria.

I suspect there’s no appetite within HMG for a reintroduction of all the procedures involved with arrivals on the red list so I suspect the hope is the in country restrictions will dissuade people from traveling.

It has just been announced that there will be a Lockdown in the whole of Austria from Monday for an indefinite period of time.

It's so miserable isn't it.
I am sure by March next year however the worst will be behind us!

The lockdown in Austria (for everyone, vaxxed and un-vaxxed) starts on Monday 22nd Nov and is planned to last for 20 days, with a review after 10 days. Nobody expects it to be lifted any earlier than after 20 days.

After that, the plan is for 2G rules to apply again. Vaccinated/recovered will be pretty much free to do whatever they want. Unvaccinated will remain in lockdown and will only be allowed to leave their places of residence for very limited reasons.
