What alcohol would you buy for this person?

Apologies not sure what topic to put this under and I can't find a Christmas one.

He's 25, he likes whiskey and is quite knowledgeable about it, also likes rum and vodka as mixers, he dabbles in a bit of cocktail making.
Would like to maybe get him a bottle of unusual alcohol or something along those lines.
Budget £40.

I drink very little myself so I am completely out of the loop with what is considered a nice quality alcohol.
Any recommendations or links would be really helpful.

Grey Goose Vodka

Bourbon. I'm a whiskey drinker but have really taken to old fashioned now. I'd buy it with some good brown sugar cubes, a tumbler and some angostura bitters.

Filey Bay Whisky comes highly recommended by the Whisky drinkers I know.

Methylated Spirits is good (best served cold or, ideally, over ice). 🥶
Lovely colour and great for cleaning glass and removing glue residue from labels on jars and things. 👍
B&Q do a half a litre for £4.37 in a plastic, almost unbreakable, bottle which is a bonus if it should roll off your park bench. 👍👍

Get him on the proper stuff. Plymouth Gin, Navy strength.

My Dad is Irish and he likes whiskey ,his favourite is Bushmills ,I'm not really a whiskey drinker but it's fairly expensive personally I prefer vodka or Gin .

If he’s into whisky and rum then I’m not sure gin is going to do it for him.

You can buy a decent Japanese whisky for £40. Penderyn is a Welsh whisky or Mackmyra is a Swedish whisky for something a little bit different or something he may not have tried.

You can buy those whiskies from Amazon btw. But if you’re lucky enough to have a spirit or whisky shop in your area they will definitely be able to help you based on your budget and brief.

How about a Japanese whisky?

A bottle of The Kings Ginger... Interesting story, nice one coming up to Christmas and delicious over ice or in cocktails.
