To ask you to help me write a quiz...

It's my sister's birthday tomorrow and I've said I'll write a 'pub quiz' for over Zoom (we are all spread out over the country) tomorrow night. Does anybody have any cracking quiz questions or topics for me to use? We've kind of exhausted the ones on the internet (we are a quiz mad family 😂)

Company logo quiz - as in "who does this represent?"

Easy to copy and paste, with a bit of editing if necessary to remove actual names, and always goes down well

Riverlee · 07/11/2021 19:30

quiz site

I use his quiz question site. There’s hundreds of questions, in different categories.

@NotExactlyOptimistic

Do a Scavenger Round. Shout out household items such as bath towel or tin opener etc then everyone has to run and get one. Whoever is back to the screen holding the item first gets a point. Loads of fun!
I had to do this once and hated it.

Guess the bad waxwork. There are some corkers

moonlight1705 · 07/11/2021 19:32

I did a round where you had to name all the famous multiples. i.e. name all of father Christmas reindeer for one point (you have to get them all right to get the one point).

Name all of Henry 8th wives in order
Name all of the gaseous elements

Etc etc

laneyjane84 · 07/11/2021 19:35

Wow these are all fantastic thank you so much! @Lactarius wow thank you so much for this!

@moonlight1705 do you remember other questions you did on this round?

What two countries are landlocked by two counties?
Uzbekistan and Liechtenstein

This isn’t quite right; Uzbekistan and Liechtenstein are the only two double landlocked countries in the world. (They’re both landlocked by landlocked countries.)

I have one that works better if spoken; how many Roads are there in the City of London? The answer is one; Goswell Road starts (or ends) within the boundary of the City of London. Everything else is a Street, Avenue or whatever. (There are no Roads that are entirely within the City boundary.)

Do a face swap between participants and celebs.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 07/11/2021 19:39

About the logo quiz - couple here already done for you:

www.joe.co.uk/life/can-you-identify-the-brand-just-from-its-logo-87451
stacker.com/stories/2640/quiz-can-you-identify-50-famous-companies-their-logos

The second one's American, but you can easily pick the many multinational ones out

Anagram rounds are always fun - loads online if you can't make up your own. Scavenger hunt but team with most relevant item wins the point- so I did one where the team got a point with the book with the most pages, item with the highest alcohol content, item with the oldest best before date (people have some very old spices lol) etc. Also you could give them a classic painting and give them 5 minutes to recreate the picture using items in their house. Or use screen share and paint to draw scenes from films and they have to guess the film (this can be very funny if the person doing the drawing is no artist)!

FlorencenotRatchet · 07/11/2021 19:48

What was seen for the first time in the film Psycho?
A view down a toilet

NoDecentHandlesLeft · 07/11/2021 20:06

Some random ones from top of my head:
Who is the only British prime minister to have been assassinated? (
Spencer Perceval)
What is the only country to have a national dog? (Netherlands). Bonus: What breed? (keeshond)
How many popes per square mile in Vatican City? (5.9)

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 07/11/2021 20:06

match the celebrity with the celebrity baby name
🤣

celebs: Frank Zappa, Rob Morrow, Jason Lee etc

babies: Pilot Inspektor, Moon Unit, Tu

Scavenger hunt is perfect for a zoom quiz. I did one last year where I asked people to find things to fit a description rather than telling them exactly what to get. So things like
  • something with a hole in
  • something with your name on
  • something cold
  • something you can wear on your head
  • something shiny ... etc

So you've the added amusement of seeing what they all bring back
