I was on the phone to my BFF talking about her wedding on Friday so admittedly not 100% concentration! But Dd is almost 5!

She has with great handwriting) written Blippi everywhere, including our antique door! Argh. How do I get this off??

Alcohol wipes or hand sanitiser

MynameisJune · 07/11/2021 15:59

I’ve used hair spray before to remove sharpie from clothing.

PussyCatEatingPigsInBlankets · 07/11/2021 16:01

Claim of your house insurance - say she'd seen the John Lewis ad...

Other than that, paint over - you might need a stain block.
And take the pens away.

usernumberno46273 · 07/11/2021 16:03

Try alcohol hand gel.

Also, when Dd used sharpie all over a white board. I used a usual dry erase pen and went over the sharpie with it and it wiped off. Not sure if the same would work here though...

5zeds · 07/11/2021 16:04

Scribble over with a hire board pen on shiny surfaces, repaint on matt

MurielSpriggs · 07/11/2021 16:05

Or a bit of vodka. Anything with alcohol in it.

CMOTDibbler · 07/11/2021 16:06

Hairspray (really close so it is wet with spray) and a magic eraser block straight away. That should do the sealed surfaces, but the wall probably won't shift as its porous and will need over painting

Alldressedup · 07/11/2021 16:07

Would a Magic Eraser work? If not, they’re pretty handy to have anyway. Good luck.

EwwSprouts · 07/11/2021 16:07

Agree alcohol hand sanitiser.

idontlikealdi · 07/11/2021 16:09

Magic eraser from Lakeland

Vickles20 · 07/11/2021 16:10

Magic eraser

ronfa · 07/11/2021 16:10

toothpaste

Sciurus83 · 07/11/2021 16:13

Oooooffff sorry OPbut the Blippi did make me laugh. You're right she does have very good handwriting!

5zeds · 07/11/2021 16:16

Whiteboard sorry

billy1966 · 07/11/2021 16:16

I think I saw WD-40 remove that? It's an oil spray that removes marks.

Indecisivelurcher · 07/11/2021 16:18

Was going to suggest wd40!

Indecisivelurcher · 07/11/2021 16:18

And a change of TV show 😁

HerRoyalWitchyness · 07/11/2021 16:19

Go over it with whiteboard marker then wipe away.

blackteaplease · 07/11/2021 16:20

Another vote for hairspray. I've removed sharpie from clothes and the wooden kitchen worktop using the method that CMOTdibbler described

MrsColinRobinson · 07/11/2021 16:20

Another suggesting WD40. It certainly works on the crayon my kids decorated the hallway with.

RubyJam · 07/11/2021 16:21

Magic eraser - it’s got black sharpie off for me before.

Ostryga · 07/11/2021 16:21

Blippi is banned from here on out. My word. It’s the first word she learnt how to spell (B L I P P I!) and now she’s learning letters at school wanted to show off.

The markers have been moved! I have ethanol so will give it a go.

My daughter used a sharpie to draw all over her cousins antique rocking horse. Toothpaste got it off. Was amazing!

duvetdrama · 07/11/2021 16:23

Whiteboard pen works a treat...Scribble all over the writing then wipe off

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 07/11/2021 16:25

Asked DH (own cleaning company) who suggests hairspray and magic eraser immediately afterwards.

I suggest suing John Lewis too... 🤔
