To make DP sleep in the shed...

Second night now I have been woken up at stupid o'clock by his obnoxious snorting and grunting. Have tried to get back to sleep for 3 hours but now its 6.30am so that's it for tonight. Meanwhile he is sleeping/snoring/slapping his lips blissfully beside me 🤬
No amount of poking, prodding, nose pinching punching in the face stops it, he sleeps like the dead Sad Only upside is he is nice and warm.

AIBU to kick him out into the freezing cold shed tonight and replace him with an electric blanket.

Does he sleep on his back? If DH was snoring on his back zI gave him a thwack and he would roll over, only half waking.

CokeZeroAddiction · 07/11/2021 07:58

My husband hasn’t slept with me for nearly a year now for the same reason. It’s blissful.

Hetyanni · 07/11/2021 08:03

I sleep with earplugs and go to bed before dh so I fall asleep before him. If that doesn't work a sharp prod so he rolls over usually does. Failing that we have a comfy sofa...

UhOhOops · 07/11/2021 08:04

I listed snoring and unwillingness to try and address it on my divorce petition. Just sayin'...

And for the shed - electric warming pad and a big thick roll of carpet over the top of him, works for our rabbit. As long as you give him a nice ear rub when you let him out in the morning

GoodnightGrandma · 07/11/2021 08:08

Separate rooms is the only answer.
And sometimes I can hear him from the other side of the house with the door shut.

Babymamamama · 07/11/2021 08:11

Download one of those free sleep apps. They will show how many times per night he is snoring and for how long. But you should sleep elsewhere whilst he is using it so you don’t get the blame for the disturbance. If you both use it separately on two phones in different rooms you can work out who is the worst offender. Maybe you don’t even snore? ….and then will be able to evidence that Smile

Havingadaytbh · 07/11/2021 08:24

Only if mine can sleep in your shed too please Grin

Lalliella · 07/11/2021 08:27

My DH snores and denies it and it really fucking pisses me off. So you’re saying I’m a liar then? Then he says he’s awake so he can’t be snoring. Oh I’m fucking imagining it am I? OP you have put me into a rage! I’m off to google where I can buy a shed.

SunshineCake1 · 07/11/2021 08:40

No he hasn't been drinking. He is up now and reckons he doesn't snore, its just nornal breathing apparently 🤬🤬[/quote]
Record him..

Justilou1 · 07/11/2021 08:40

Btw, after 17 years I was threatening all kinds of physical torture (cheese graters were mentioned) every time he woke me. I recorded a decibel meter and compared him to things with equivalent volumes. Including a church that received a noise citation for playing loud rock gospel music AFTER being soundproofed. (Not sure which is worse - the music or snoring..)

MrsJBaptiste · 07/11/2021 08:43

I blew up an airbed and slept in the living room last night - a spare room would be amazing!

DH does snore but a kick normally stops him long enough for me to get back to sleep. However he has a stonking cold at the moment so I knew either of us woukd get much sleep so I went in the shed for the airbed!

Justilou1 · 07/11/2021 08:54

🤫Dead mean don’t snore… 🤫

AlbusDumbledore2234 · 07/11/2021 09:27

I am so glad it's not just me who feels this way! I love my partner so much, he is such a sweetheart but my god he makes me so furious at night 😅
We have a very generous sized shed in the garden so more than happy for any of you to fling your offending fellas in there along with mine, failing that we could ship them all off to the zoo where they can go in with the Warthogs, Rhinos and pot bellied pigs 🐽

Get his snoring investigated immediately - sleep apnoea is very serious that can lead to brain damage.

Purplecatshopaholic · 07/11/2021 09:38

My bf has currently got a cold (sorry - cross between man flu/the bubonic plague), and has taken himself off to sleep in the spare room the last few nights. We are currently playing the You Snore Louder Than Me game. Good times..

icedcoffees · 07/11/2021 09:50

He needs to be checked for sleep apnoea.

You can be super fit and healthy and still suffer from it.

Wolfiefan · 07/11/2021 09:55

Saw a gadget reviewed on the gadget show the other day. Sound asleep pillow. Will supposedly help you get to sleep but also wake you if you snore (without waking your partner). Seriously considering getting DH one.

Greenrubber · 07/11/2021 10:04

Recored him the next time and let him hear how bad it is
Sometimes they just don't believe its that bad
