AIBU to think 3 sickness bugs in 2 months is too much?

My poor ds 2.5 is on his 3rd sickness bug in 2 months. He had his 1st on on the 5th of September, his 2nd on the 13th of October and his 3rd today so exactly 2 month's between them.

Is this normal or should I be getting him checked out at the doctors? I think I've had about 3 sickness bugs my whole life and my poor boy has had 3 in 2 months!

There is no harm in checking with the doctor. Is he eating, sleeping well? Taking vitamins? Making sure he washes his hands after toilet, before eating, when he comes inside? My youngest got ill frequently with vomiting bugs - usually every holiday so I think tiredness / getting run down plays a part.

What does he eat?

Does he have allergies?

Does he have siblings/go to nursery etc? Or just home with you?

So many variables. And kids do just pick up bugs/germs.

Ask your Health Visitor or GP for advice if worried.

He's a pretty good eater. Eats lots of fruit and has veg with dinner. Usually porridge for breakfast with oat milk. Sandwiches for lunch and nuggets/pasta/pizza for dinner.

I started him on a multi vitamin after the first sickness bug.

He does go to nursery a couple of afternoons a week so I'm assuming that's where he's getting them from but it just seems excessive!

I could be wrong but it seems like people are getting even more illnesses than a typical winter because of us all not mixing for so long? Everyone I know has had multiple illnesses the past couple of months. Can't hurt to give the dr a call if you're concerned though.

No harm in getting him checked but I wouldn’t necessarily worry - nurseries are a petri dishes and some of it is luck if the drawer (plus post lockdown, bugs do seem to be Fife)

Yeah he didn't have so much as a sniffle for a year and a half and then started nursery in June and it's been one thing after another.

I think I'll speak to the gp just to be safe.
