For an 18 month old toddler?

It's expensive given that it will be grown out of very quickly.

If you want a ride-on, the mini-micro 3-in-1 would be better value because you will get several years of use out of it.

Kanaloa · 05/11/2021 06:20

I don’t think it’s necessarily too babyish but I would probably go with a scuttle big or something instead just because it will last longer. That looks really small to me, I would think an 18 month old will outgrow it quickly.

Kanaloa · 05/11/2021 06:21

Scuttle Bug I meant! Or a similar small trike type toy.

Moonshine11 · 05/11/2021 06:30

I think you'll get more out of a scuttle bug

MiddleParking · 05/11/2021 06:36

A relative just bought my small-for-her-age two year old something similar in this size and honestly it’s pointless, she’s far too big to get any good use out of it. It looks uncomfortable even for the child in the picture!

Heartburnkillingme · 05/11/2021 06:36

I’m getting my 12 month old the micro scooter ride on for Xmas and bday gift it’ll grow with him and his sisters used their scooters for years. It’s a very good investment

Wagglerock · 05/11/2021 06:37

I'd agree you're not going to get loads of use out of it. A scuttle bug would be better imo.

PinkWaferBiscuit · 05/11/2021 06:42

I agree with others, it's not too babyish but at 18 months the child will not play with it for long, a few months max and for that price you'd want it to be enjoyed adls much as possible.

The reviews mostly say its been purchased for a child's first birthday. That should give you some indication that it's a little on the young side for a child who is most likely already walking.

A scuttle bug, balance bike or micro scooter would be a much cheaper and much more sensible gift for a child of that age and will get played with much more.

hellcatspangle · 05/11/2021 06:42

It looks like more of a pre Walker toy to me sorry

glasshalfsomething · 05/11/2021 06:46

Also we have the small toy. The music is super annoying. I can’t let you voluntarily chose it.

CecilyP · 05/11/2021 06:46

Agree with others, not to babyish, but she simply won’t get much use before she grows out of it. And as it is really expensive so that would be a waste.

Whynotnowbaby · 05/11/2021 06:47

Not babyish in terms of styling maybe but too “young” in terms of design. You might get a bit of fun from it but it is likely to be outgrown and rejected very quickly. At that age my kids loved those inflatable bouncy animal hoppers.

Not too babyish but agree with others very expensive given it will be grown out of quickly.

Often see them being sold second hand for around £10 so if perhaps try that route

Lockdownbear · 05/11/2021 06:53

I think it will quickly be outgrown by an 18 mth old. And also frustrating as it looks difficult to turn.
What about a wheelie bug?

Goldbar · 05/11/2021 07:08

Kids are funny. It's clearly intended for a younger child (6 months to 1 year) but actually my 4yo would still enjoy putting the balls in and watching them come out. They would have loved it at 18 months.

Looks very annoying though...not sure I could bear it in the house but I'm not a unicorn fan Grin.

SweetMaryHell · 05/11/2021 08:24

Thanks everyone! I’ll give it a miss and get her a scuttle bug. Will justify me getting her something extra too since it’s cheaper 😁

My DC got a lot of use out of a folding trike at that age. We used to take it to the playground and sling it under the buggy for the way home.
