Heating disagreement

Help me out!

Our heating themostat was set to 19c. I asked Mr Bin to turn it up to 21c now it's a bit colder. He said it won't make it any warmer in the house, because the heating/radiators only gets so hot.

I think he's wrong, that the heating will stay on for longer, until the place has warmed up to the temp we set on the thermostat before cutting out. So it will make the house warmer to set the thermostat higher.

Am I going crazy?

YABU- he is correct.

YANBU- I am correct and he is a big weirdo.

Invest in a boiler manager unit, about 80£ plus, fit in about an hour,& turn the stat up to what you want, the manager will control the boiler &
stop it waiting fuel by doing continuous dry runs,as boilers are idiots that need to be controlled properly , B/M devices work

Right now I have on thick socks, leggings, a big fluffy hoodie and my husband has on shorts and t shirt. He never notices that cold at all. My brother had moved back to my mums house right now and said he woke up feeling sick and sweltering. She had turned the thermostat up to 36c, when we were young the heating had 2 settings, full blast or off and she seems to still think it’s the same.

An electric throw is what you need! My husband is happy with house at 17C I however am not. I sit on my electric throw on the sofa with a blanket on top and I’m lovely and toasty.

Electricity bill is insane this year
