Given up wine . Feeling better soon?

How soon should I dater you feel better, look less haggard and exhausted , start to feel less depressed, anxious and overthinking?
Should it be relatively soon, as in days/ weeks?
Drank approx 5 bottles of wine per week up to two nights ago.
Today I feel a little fresher after a relatively good nights sleep, still look bloated and wrecked, not as anxious or low but a little bit . Still overthinking .
Any experience of this please?

When I stopped drinking it took me a couple of weeks to start feeling better which I think was largely because I was sleeping better. I had terrible insomnia as a drinker. I would go to sleep fine bit then wake at 3 or 4am. The worst of the cravings were gone in a month.

I set myself a 3 month target but then extended it to 6 and then 12 months. After 12 months dry (July 21) I have decided to only drink if out with friends (and then I am cautious). I have only drank alcohol twice since my 12 months was up. I found I am not that fussed about it now.

I joined one year no beer (for 90 days) which helped me a lot. Others find reading ‘Quit Lit’ helpful.

Well done you. You have got this 💐

Took me about 3 months to really see the benefit. But I don’t miss it now at all.
I do still drink occasionally, it was just habit for me-no addiction. I just needed to get into a new groove in the evenings. We used to spend £400 a month on wine, now it’s about £20 if that!

Thanks so much.
I've been using wine as an emotional crutch for the past few years dealing with a crumbling marriage, separation and the whol fall out.
It gave me release, relaxation and a massive escape.
I have suffered, my kids, my mental health, my body and looks, my finances have all taken a hit.
I am in a relationship with an amazing man who doesn't drink at home so it's a great opportunity in support iykwim.
I want the old me back.

It took me around 6 weeks to look better and probably a bit longer to feel bouncy. Before that I obviously did feel good not to be hungover but quite some time to feel great. I wasn't eating well or exercising when I had a wine habit so I was probably quite run down.
2.5 years on I feel fucking great Wink

For me 2 weeks for the physical cravings/anxiety to pass.

4 weeks I really saw the different in my face and figure.

You can do this! The start is always the hardest. Look up timelines online to spur yourself on with what you have to look forward to.

Congratulations on giving it up , it's a very hard thing to do

2 weeks I would say...and a lot of sugar cravings in may case. 6 weeks really notice it.

What helped me was making sure I had something planned every evening for 2 weeks that didn't involve wine or involved me driving or getting home so late I'd missed my witching hour. Even if I just went for a walk after work that was enough to break the habit.

I'd agree with PP about two weeks but my face and body are much less bloated 2 months later.
