Dd 17 had a text today to book her 2nd covid jab. She isn't 18 until next summer.
She had to confirm dob and then booked the appointment. I thought her age group were only allowed 1?

If she was sent the text and asked to confirm her DOB I can’t imagine they would turn her away when she goes for her 3nd jag

16+ can have 2

PheasantsNest · 02/11/2021 23:31

She will likely be turned away. It's only one vaccine for 17 year olds unless they are CV or live with someone CEV.

Do you have a source or link for this? DS is nearly 17 and was told he'd only have a single jab. I'd be interested to see whether this has now changed as we've not heard anything to say he can have a second.

We'll give you a second jab if you're 17 yrs and 9 months or above in my part of the world (East of England).

HouseofSkullduggery · 03/11/2021 06:50

I guess she'll just have to wait and see! She's not 17 and 9 months yet.

It’s 17yrs 9 months here too (humberside)

One vaccine for under 18s. If they are 17 and within 3 months of their 18th birthday then they can have the 2nd. I'm a vaccinator - NHS Scotland if that makes a difference, I don't know if they have different rules down in England, I can't imagine so.

In the hub where i worked they are doing seconds for 16-17, an they’ve started doing boosters after 5 months.
