To have bought a walking machine?

Posting here for traffic.

I just purchased a walking machine. It does seem pretty quiet & I live in a ground floor flat. I only walk about 1-1.5 miles per hour (doing it whilst I work.) Thing is, it seemed a great idea when I bought it, but I'm worrying about the landlord finding it annoying if he can hear it. I don't know the landlords, but they live in the building above (it's basically a house which has has a part of it converted into a self container flat.)

I'm now super worried I'll annoy them & have spent a load of unnecessary money.

Do you think I should mention it to them - or just leave it unless they say something?

Fwiw, I can hear them walking around above me and occasionally their child crying, but nothing else, so it may be quite soundproof. I'm also quite paranoid about sound as my old neighbours used to complain if I even put the washing machine on or had the radio on low. Blush

By walking machine I assume you mean a treadmill? I wouldn't say anything, I can't imagine they can hear it much or at all if you're on the floor underneath. Being on the ground floor is ideal for stuff like that, it's when you have flats under you the noise starts rattling. I think you're fine Smile

Well the flat is connected to the lower ground sections of the house - though I'm not exactly sure which! There are no ways of accessing the other sections of the house via my flat though (walls between us, not doors.)

Yeah, it's a treadmill - though one only really intended for walking as I think the max is 3Mph? The only sound that really comes from it is the sound of the motor, so hopefully it's not a problem. I'd say its about as loud as a TV on low when in use.

Thanks for the response though - has made me feel better. I tend to be a worry wort when it comes to this kind of thing Blush
