Does it feel like a long time since Princess Diana died

Next year it will be 25 years since Princess Diana died, when you look back does it feel like a long time or not since she died? My DS who is now an adult was born 5 years after she died which when I think about it makes me realise just how long ago it was and people who are under 25 will have no memory of her being alive.

It seems a long time ago yes. I really think she should be left to rest in peace after all this time .So many programmes, people saying they knew the "real " person and so on .I dread to think how much money has been made out of this tragic life .Next year will be even worse!

Wholeheartedly agree, the vultures have made fortunes out of this poor woman's death.

I was a teenager when she died, so it does feel like a distant memory. But the fact that until recently there were still stories and conspiracies about her death makes it feel more recent. I think once the Express and similar papers had Harry and Meghan to focus on, the Di stories slowed down, but this was only in the last few years.

Do the Express still do Maddie stories too?

I got married the day of her funeral in St Lucia

I think it does, because as shallow as this sounds, when I think of her, I think of a 1980s/90s woman.

And because William & Harry were children Sad

Of course it feels like ages ago, because it was.

1997 was the year Tony Blair won his first landslide. It was a different era.

Why does thinking of someone who was famous in the 1980s/90s as a 1980s/90s woman make you shallow? It's literally what she was.

I remember my 7 year old DD grumpily waking me up to complain that her favourite early morning show wasn’t on tv “because princess Diana is dead”!
DD is now in her 30s, so yes, it does seem long ago. I still remember the shock I felt at DD’s announcement.
I had a similar experience myself at age 7, telling my parents that President Kennedy had been assassinated - I had just seen it on our (black and white) tv.

@DappledThings I meant that her appearance/style/hair/fashion is so dated now

I remember 1997 more as the year of the devolution referendums than the year Diana died, tbh.
