Just interested to know what others think of this request seen on a local NEXDOOR
"Hi everyone, we are looking for a cleaner to come today to clean our house after a party last night. Please let me know :)"

A bit lazy and entitled perhaps? What do you reckon?

Are they going to pay them?

namechange30455 · 01/11/2021 15:36

Why is this more lazy than anyone else who hires a cleaner?

AnitaMani · 01/11/2021 15:36

'Looking for a cleaner for a one off clean today' would have sufficed.

x2boys · 01/11/2021 15:37

Im not sure what the issue is assuming they are going to pay them?

PurpleDaisies · 01/11/2021 15:37

@namechange30455

Why is this more lazy than anyone else who hires a cleaner?
Or an end of tenancy clean.

I’m sure someone would be glad of the work,

ABCeasyasdohrayme · 01/11/2021 15:37

Quite sensible really, I wish I had the forethought in my partying days to hire a cleaner for the next day, save me having to clean up while hungover.

Shade17 · 01/11/2021 15:38

Where there’s muck, there’s brass. Don’t really see an issue with putting money in someone’s pocket.

PurpleDaisies · 01/11/2021 15:39

What exactly do you think is entitled about it? Lazy, maybe big paying someone a fair wage to do a job you don’t want to do…that’s not entitled.

nitsandwormsdodger · 01/11/2021 15:42

Someone else cleans my car
Someone else teaches my kids
Someone else cooks food at work
Someone else is curing cancer
Is it lazy and entitled that I’m not doing it myself

inappropriateraspberry · 01/11/2021 15:45

Seems like a fair request. They e been open as to what the clean will entail - after a party, rather than a general house clean. It's up to others whether they want to offer their services or not.

Sparklfairy · 01/11/2021 15:51

I had this once as a cleaner. It was students, one let me in to give a quote and said "we had a bit of a party and when we woke up there was this... mess everywhere" pizza boxes, beer cans, upturned chairs etc. He said it as if the house trashing fairies had been in while they were out of it Grin

I worked for hours, and about 6pm told them I had to leave to feed my dog and let him out, but I would be back in an hour to finish. All fine. When I came back, the kitchen that I'd made spotless was completely trashed again Confused the fairies had evidently been back Grin I had to work very late that night but they were happy to pay me so I didn't mind and it still makes me smile!

FictionalCharacter · 01/11/2021 15:53

Entitled?
Surely they’re just offering a job?

VladmirsPoutine · 01/11/2021 15:59

On what planet is this entitled or lazy? If I could afford it I'd hire a chef, a house manager, a nanny, the lot.

girlmom21 · 01/11/2021 16:05

I don't understand how it's entitled. Some people clean for a living. I'm sure someone will be up for the job. Even if they're not, what's the harm in asking?
