What is the youngest age you'd expect someone on Mumsnet to be

Of course I know you can be 18 and on mumsnet but realistically what is the youngest age you would imagine someone being on Mumsnet is? If someone was 20 and a regular user would you be surprised at how young they were to be on the site using it regularly if they were not a parent?

I'm 18, but was a regular lurker since 16.

@VeniVidiWeeWee

Going from a lot of the threads about 9.
🤣

I joined when I was pregnant with my son at 19. Almost 29 now!

@Wallywobbles

My 15 yo has had a thread on here. Trying to prove I was being unreasonable. Didn't work in her favour though!
Bless her😂😂

  1. No children (and no likelihood of them in the immediate future!) I'm on here pretty much every day. My friends tend to laugh when I say "so and so on Mumsnet..." so I guess I'm in the minority.
TaraR2020 · 31/10/2021 23:31

@Wallywobbles that must have been satisfying Grin

She got it taken down when she saw the way the wind was blowing! I never saw it.

It was about me not allowing her to go by herself to Paris and stay with someone I'd never heard of. And thinking back she might only have been 14.

If it's a teenaged DS I guess maybe he is hoping to find out the answer to that age-old question "what do women really want"?

A580Hojas · 01/11/2021 04:10

I'm sure a lot of the trolls are teenagers larking about.

Gimlisaxe · 01/11/2021 04:16

Given how much troll threads increase during holidays 12 would be my guess

whiteroseredrose · 01/11/2021 04:24

DD was fascinated by AIBU and had an account when she was about 14.

That was when I had a few name changes because she kept working out my user name!

Fortunately the interest didn't last long.

My dd comes here and reads things I send.

There was a really great thread recently about lucrative careers. I think the ops dd was deciding what route at college to take. All of it was about law, which my dd is studying at University next year.

Loads of really great tips and actions to take whole in college and uni. Nothing to do with parenting at all.

If my younger ds had an account, I would be intrigued as to the reason why, probably a bit shocked he knew about it as I don't really mention it to him and haven't found anything I think would help him specifically. So would be surprised he knew about it.

So whose 16 year old son has an account?

plinkplinkfizzer · 01/11/2021 06:21

@saltedcracklin

Would you be surprised if your teenage DS had a mumsnet account?
My son told me he is banned off MN 🙄
