To want to pay less for this

Went and got my hair done at the local hairdressers, just a dye and trim. The card machine was broken, so they told me to come back with the cash the next day.

Got home and was looking at my hair, and noticed it was patchy. I had it dyed from dark to a coppery colour. I'm really tempted to tell them I don't want to pay full price, as it's quite patchy. AIBU? In fairness, I definitely won't be back to get my hair done with them again, ever.

I think I would be asking them to fix it. It’s definitely a bit patchy

Lifeonashoestring · 31/10/2021 19:00

That's shocking. I'd ask them to fix it first personally rather than paying twice

LadyCatStark · 31/10/2021 19:01

You could have done a better job of that with a box dye on your own 😵. They need to either fix it or not charge you.

Fraine · 31/10/2021 19:03

Do you trust them to fix it?

That is quite noticeable

Justheretoaskaquestion91 · 31/10/2021 19:06

Honestly it looks like they have put black spots in your hair definitely don’t pay 😱

LivingLaVidaBabyShower · 31/10/2021 19:08

That is one bad dye job.
You are def within your rights to ask for a correction or discount.

I'd ask them to fix it first, definitely. Think you might be on shaky ground legally by refusing to pay but it isn't a great job.

Charlene1971 · 31/10/2021 19:54

I really don't want to ask them to fix it for 2 reasons

  1. I don't trust them after this
  2. I would be very uncomfortable sitting there whilst they fixed it. I'm quite an anxious person

Then I don't think you can refuse to pay. You can't say a job isn't good enough to pay them for but refuse to have it rectified. That's called theft of services.

SofiaMichelle · 01/11/2021 19:00

You can't just not pay.

You need to see them and discuss it.
