To not let my 4 year old go to a party with a cough

My four year old has a new cough. Her covid swab for this cough was negative 4 days ago. There was a party yesterday which I didn't take her to, as I thought that if she passed on the cough then parents there who were self-employed would have to miss work awaiting their children's PCR tests (which is what has happened to us). I went with my cough-free younger daughter (age 2) who had also been invited. Other people there said they would have brought their children with new coughs if the swabs were negative. Should I have taken both (yabu)? Or left the coughing child behind (yanbu)? I feel like such a bad mum (even though she had a fun afternoon with her dad).

@Mybalconyiscracking I am mostly just trying to appease the ever present mum-guilt

(although if it had been over 90% yabu then I would also change things next time)

Very thoughtful OP. A light cold/bit of a runny nose fair enough, but I'm seeing so many children who are visibly really not well out and about at playgroups, softplay etc just now. As soon as I see them I think about the time-off and PCR we'll need once DD catches it. Just stay at home!!
