Have you planted any trees, bushes or flowers?

I used to love a tree in someone's garden when we went past. recently their neighbours have cut the overhanging branches back to the trunk. So its now half a tree. this made me sad and I was thinking about all of the big trees that have disappeared from my childhood memories.
So I'm trying to think of the ones that I could grow. and that others have grown.

I have planted 3 fruit trees in my life.
I want to plant more.
My parents have planted a hedge in their old house which is still there and let their hedge in their new house grow to nearly 10 foot all around. So they haven't really grew trees but they have in a way.
Grandparents have lined their huge back garden with fruit trees. Easily 20. maybe more.

Have you planted anything?
Would you consider planting trees/ bushes/ flowers on wasted green space such as grass verges? or on communal/ council land?
A neighbour has planted loads of beautiful flowers on the grass verge outside their house and it makes me so happy when I walk past.
I am considering doing the same.

We’ve planted 550 trees so far, a mix of hazel, elder, field maple, rowan and hornbeam, with blackthorn/hawthorn/sea buckthorn/guelder roses too. I started when my eldest was born 30 years ago and absolutely love them.

Literally hundreds of plants, hundreds. We now live on 5ish acres and the previous owner bought it as a field and planted hundreds and hundreds of trees so half is wooden, the other half landscaped gardens. We are going to put in 10 or so fruit trees this winter but apart from that just replace anything we have to take out due to death and disease.

My husband is a bit tree obsessed, he loves the things.

I have tree planted on urban community park land (with council permission) but few have survived due to vandalism. I don't see why people always wreck stuff that would make the shared environment better. Only native trees though. Would stay away from rough ground that might be full of orchids or insects but close mown areas could do with more diversity. My pet hate is people with astro turf gardens...

My WI have planted loads of native trees and fruit trees around our village.

The WI as a whole has been very active on that front
