AIBU to think that it’s gone a bit crazy this year?
Houses decorated from top to toe, massive queues at the fancy dress shop in the city yesterday, everyone I meet talking about parties, local shops giving out treat bags...

It seems much more of a thing this year than ever before.
I’m not against it, just wondering if anyone else has noticed?

I don't decorate and don't normally open the door but I had a bag of Quality Street in and couldn't turn away the drenched little dressed up visitors just now. They very politely took a single sweet from the bag too.

Ah! It’s stopped raining now and I can hear people out and about!

Went for a long walk and saw a few families wandering around, but almost no decorations (or "tat" Grin) at all around here. Bit of a letdown - what's the Halloween version of bah humbug?

Huge number here in North London. I had bought a big basketful of sweets but they went in the first hour. Then had to raid our Christmas stash and hand out chocolate coins and Santas. Finally gave up, completely depleted, and brought our pumpkin in at about 7pm. There are still loads of trick or treaters out now at 8.25 and I'm wishing I had bought more sweets, although I think it would have had to be five times as many, and I had lots to start with!

Very glad to see children being able to enjoy something normally after such a shit couple of years.

Absolute ton of people out. I brought dd out in her wheelchair just to see fireworks, came back at 7.30pm to a man hurling abuse at me for not answering the door and how un Halloween I was, not decorating my house and not answering the door. I let him finish, then looked him dead in the eye and said "where am I right now", he looked confused, I said "I'm walking into my garden, I'm not in my house so I can't open the door to you"... Absolute knob... Mad thing is by 8pm all the neighbours were out with ladders ripping down the decorations they spent the last 2 weeks perfecting.

We stayed in and had about 50 trick or treaters in a 2 hr period. Wiped us out of sweets! Largely from a group of teenage girls with pillowcases taking handfuls each Angry. Everyone else was very polite!
