Just want to have fun

I’m sitting in my kitchen listening to music and I love just dancing along. Our kids are out for the whole weekend so just me and my husband are here. I’ve made dinner and we’ve had that but now just want a bit of together time. He is now in the other room watching the cricket. I would quite like if we could have some time together. He doesn’t want to. I’m having a drink but not rowdy. He’s not a big drinker. But should this matter? I just want to be together

So we have talked around it( because he has had issues with back etc) for the last year or so but no final discussion and then today it was presented as a done deal

YNBU OP. We used to do this a lot pre DC and I miss it immensely. If we got the opportunity for dinner, wine, some good 80s music and a couple of bottles of wine, I'd be really said if DH chose to watch TV instead... 🍷 x

I'd tell him he has to earn his own money and not assume you're going to pay for everything.

Presumably you responded negatively to his news (and rightfully so I imagine that it wouldn’t occur to him that the very same evening he tells you the bad news… that you want to dance around the kitchen with him
