Who knows about hcg levels

I'm sorry to be posting this here as it's not an aibu but I'm just desperate for some knowledge/answers. I'm currently pregnant (so my test and bloods say) from a frozen embryo transfer. I should be 7 weeks tomorrow. I went for my viability scan at the ivf clinic yesterday and they couldn't find the fetal pole, gestational sac and yolk sac is there but no pole, she said she might be able to see a flicker of something but she can't say, so I've been referred to the hospital as the nurse said at this stage a fetal pole and heartbeat should be visible.
They did my hcg bloods and they've come back as 38928 which they said is higher than the expected range.
So I'm really thrown now. Apparently come Monday when I have another scan it will confirm what's going on.
I'm just in a bad place, stuck in limbo land wandering am I going to have this baby or not ! Why is my hcg so high yet they can't find the baby? Does anyone have any experience ? I know I'm grasping at straws but I can't help myself

Have you had another blood test to check if numbers are still multiplying?

I know this is controversial but I would not let them do any more internal scans. I’m not skinny and external scan been fine from 7 weeks. I won’t go into my experience of internal scanning but I think the less you interfere the better. I’m sure people will pile on and say I’m wrong but I just always cringe when I hear people saying they’re having lots of early internal scans. Unless it’s suspected ectopic let baby be. It sounds positive for you OP. It’s early for a heartbeat.

Internal scans are completely safe

@vivainsomnia thank you for your kind words. No haven't had more hcg done as they think with another scan they will be able to give me a definite answer on the next one (although I was told that before) I have done another pregnancy test, don't even know why as it's obviously going to come up postive even with a small amount of hcg in my system 🙄

@Itsbeen84yearss not sure what could go wrong from internal scans, I'm guessing you may be hinting at bleeding etc from being poked at prodded. But I'd have thought if they wasn't safe then the epu wouldn't have you back for extra scans

When is your next scan?

@blink1eight2 Monday. That will be the 4th scan and still no answers! And none of these have been booked privately they're all nhs and one my ivf clinic

Is your next scan with your ivf clinic or nhs?

@blink1eight2 it's with nhs. They're the ones who couldn't be sure if they're seeing a fetal pole or not yesterday. They were more postive than my ivf clinic though it was all very negative at their scan. Thank you fingers crossed 🤞🏻

@DontBiteTheBoobThatFeedsYou Going by ivf dates I'm 7+5 but the hospital have me measuring at 6+7. It was a frozen embryo transferred, apparently they can take upto five days to implant so I don't know if that might make a difference ? If anyone can explain what might be going on I'd be grateful cause my mind is blown all this is new to me!

@Dunkindonuts8 No update, no change here. My scan isn't until Monday, feels a lifetime away!
Been having a few pulls/aches in my lower back and pelvic area the last few days but that's it.

Not a postive update here, the baby has died, it stopped growing around 6 weeks. Been told it's a missed miscarriage as everything still intact. Thanks for everyone being here listening to my worries the last couple of weeks

I’m sorry to hear that op I had a missed miscarriage at 11 weeks just before the baby who is now emptying the contents of my bedside draws. Don’t give up hope
