Want to find a physical job to get through this difficult winter

This is my first mumsnet post, so thank you for reading in advance.

I am a single women living in Central London. I found winter is extremely hard since the pandemic and I am longing for a community feel. Two of my friends moved away from my neighbourhood does not help. The lockdown and WFH also made me realise that being with people gives me energy.

I want to find a part time job that does not involves sitting in front of a computer as I already have a full time office job. For example even just one evening per week at the local pub, which I can walk around and talking to people. I worked in a bar while in Uni and really miss it.

Can anyone please suggest apart from bar jobs, are there any other job I could explore so I can get through this tough winter?

Thank you very much!

@mimi0088 sorry for the delay - it was a small local charity that I was already volunteering with; it was a new venture for them and a switch of volunteering roles for me as other activities had stopped.

I did apply for several things with larger charities - FareShare and another major food distribution charity - and generally found that small local charities were much better at replying. Some of the larger ones had defined "onboarding" processes, but didn't really follow them through. That's not to denigrate all large charities - I work in that sector, but several friends that volunteered (or attempted to) had similar experiences.
Fo the same charity I did some logistics work, coordinating food deliveries, but pretty tedious as all on line WFH - bit different to work, but not that much! - It's what made me suggest to really think about what you want to get from volunteering.

My current work role is primarily WFH; I'm dreading it for winter, I was office based through last winter. Work won't fund it, but i'm thinking about paying to use local hotdesking space to preserve my sanity!

What about joining a local amateur dramatics group and offering to paint scenery? Would use your artistic talents and you’d meet people! Good luck Smile

@DaphneduWarrior - this is such a good idea, I will check it out. Thank you.
