Is £5 enough in kids bday card

DD has a classmates party coming up. I asked the parents what we can buy (since I’m crap at gifting!), one suggestion was to stick £5 in the birthday card. I’m absolutely fine doing this (it was a v pleasant convo not a CF situation) but wondering if £5 is good enough? Should I give £10? Child will be 6.

We are new to all this party stuff and I’m finding it weirdly stressful

@00100001

so with possibly 25-30 kids doing this, you'd think its reasonable a 6yo is given around £250+... ??

I find there is a mix of toys of around £10 and cash so to fit in with most others £10 is normal here. Just adding to the conversation as OP seems to be trying to suss out what is usual.

If my six year old ended up with £250 we would find suitable items for them to choose from eg bike or a trampoline rather than the toy aisle at tesco which is where we would go if he got £20.

£5 is fine but I'd chuck in a box of sweets too
