Have read all the old threads, the woman in Severnake Forest one still scares me to this day and so does the boy in the nightclub one! I need more woo in my life! Please tell me your spooky stories and close encounters - have stayed in 2 supposedly haunted hotels in recent months - didn't know about the tragic history of one of them till after but I did think the place had a weird energy.

A few quid things happened in the house I grew up in, it wasn't a particularly old house and I'd describe myself as a sceptic, but can't explain these.

I was in my teens and my parents and brother were going out for the day, so I did what any teen would do, I watched them drive away and then turned my music up full blast. Now you know when you've lived somewhere a while, you know where all the creaky floorboards are, you know what your families footsteps sound like, etc? So it's a little while after they've left, and I hear footsteps leave my parents room, walk down the corridor and stop outside my room at the top of the stairs. Without thinking I go open my door. It's only once I see there's no one there that I realise how none of it makes sense. My music was too loud to hear footsteps, for someone to leave my parents room they'd have had to walk up the (creaky) stairs and past my room to get there in the first place - and I hadn't heard that. I shut my door and didn't come out again until I saw my parents arrive home.

Another time my parents and brother went out, I stayed home this time in the living room (a boy I fancied delivered newspapers and I was hoping to spot him). So I'm sat looking out the window when I hear giggling coming from behind me. There's no one behind me.

Posted this before but hey ho!
When i was about 12/13, still living at home with my mum, my bedroom light used to flicker all the time. My mum went through so many lightbulbs from so many different shops bless her, then one night me my mum and stepdad attended a local spiritualist church (stepdads very woo), lo and behold the medium pointed at me and asked me to stand up. He said i have a little lady here with grey curly hair and glasses- knew instantly it was my great granny. He said all those lightbulbs youve gone through, its her thats doing it shes letting you know shes there [cue awkward laugh from me and slightly shaking]. Went home and said to mum, yeah right lets go and test this then. Walked up to my bedroom holding my mums hand and said okay granny if your here flicker the light. Instantly it started doing it, i said okay stop now, and ding- completely stopped. Over the next few years i would ask if she was there and to flicker the light, always did.
Ive also had a sort of sixth sense with things like 'phone rings' oh mum thats uncle calling to ask about x', and i was stood in my kitchen one evening when my uncle and auntie drove into our close, i ran into my mum all excited 'omg aunties pregnant shes having a baby' before she had actually come inside the house and announced itGrin

@Carefultherepercy yes I know, it doesn’t really bear thinking about Sad even before I was aware of anything spooky, I had always avoided going into that part of the house as it was always freezing cold and had a really oppressive feeling.

I don’t believe in ghosts, but I have had a couple of weird experiences.

The first was when I was about 13, I was sleeping at a friends house. I woke up in the night, opened my eyes, and sitting on a beanbag opposite me there was a little blonde boy, about 7 years old. I remember he had on a green t shirt. He sat there looking at me, I was looking back at him and watched as he slowly disappeared and the teddy bear normally sat on the beanbag became visible behind him. It wasn’t until he was gone that I suddenly felt a bit freaked out! I put it down to my brain playing tricks - very possible when waking in the night I guess.

The second was when I went to stay at my mums. I was walking down the stairs and felt someone push me from behind. It was so real I turned around to shout at my brother, whom I imagined would be the person pushing me but no one was there. Again, probably my brain playing tricks!

There’s a good buzzfeed series on YouTube you might like OP, called Unsolved Supernatural - it’s two guys going ghost hunting, but unlike most of those types of shows, one is a believer, the other a sceptic. I like it for the comedy factor, but there’s arguably some “creepy” stuff that happens sometimes too.

I’ve just been spooked reading some of the posts on that link. Couldn’t find the boy on the club post though…

That is a strange one about ghe girl’s dad though.

Just remembered one of my own. We were having a bbq with friends in our garden over the summer. My 2 year old slid down the slide, stood up and said hello to someone. She speaks really well so when asked who it was, she said ‘the man with the big boots over there’. We live very remotely and I could see anyone. A while later her younger friend who hadn’t been in that part of the garden at the time started pointing to a man…

Our house is old with the remains of a blacksmiths shed in the garden…

The boy in the club post is one of the creepiest things I’ve ever read. It’s really chilling for some reason. I hope someone can find it and share it for those who haven’t seen it.

Here is the boy in the club post for those who haven’t seen it:

In the late 1970s/early 1980's the place to go was TOTS (Talk of The south), which was a Disco in Southend on sea.

We used to go every week.

I started to notice a young man with blond hair. He was always alone and always stood not far from the bar. I would catch his eye and he would stare back but it felt very uncomfortable. He didn't smile back which was very odd as back then I was a gorgeous young thing! ;)

He was there every week and although I was having a riot of a time with my girl friends, I did start to look out for him. No one else appeared to notice him as we were all having such a great time.

He was always dresses the same in shirt and trousers. He wasn't fashionable but he wasn't unfashionable. He was good looking and had a very clear complexion and wavy blond hair.

I chat to anyone but I always had the feeling of being fearful of him and not to approach.

I suppose I just got used to seeing him there.

Fast forward nearly twenty years later and my disco days were long over and my then partner who was in the music business told me that he had to meet someone at the former TOTS. I think there was a name change and instead of a disco it was now a nightclub.

I decided to go with him to see how much it had changed inside.

We got there and off he went to meet this chap, it was only a quick chat.

I strolled around, feeling rather out of place amongst the pretty young things and then wham! Straight in front of me about ten feet away was the boy/man I used to see all of those years ago!

Everything around me seemed to fade away and I could not tear my eyes away from him. He was angry, very angry I could feel his anger and I felt terrified. I was fixed to the spot and I cannot find the words to describe just how petrified I was.

I felt as if I was in grave danger. This young man, perfectly ordinary looking was exactly the same as I'd seen him before. He hasn't aged and his hair and clothes were the same.

All of a sudden, the world started rushing back into view and I could see and hear everything going on around me, I spun around and knew I had to get out of there as soon as I could. Thankfully my now ex had finished with the bloke he had to meet and I tugged on his arm to get us out of there.

I have no idea what or why I saw this young man and why he should be so menacing.

Another poster did suggest that a teenager had been run over and killed nearby but it doesn't explain why this presence would want to scare the crap out of me!

He was so scary because he was so normal looking and whatever it was about him had the power to give off the very strong vibe of anger and danger.
