I have nits; will you be my friend?

Reception age child, first social tomorrow to meet parents outside of the drop off queue and I have 3 nits! But if I treat then with Hedrin I will be a Greasemonster.

What to do? If my chat is quite good would you forgive the odd parasite?

Why would you be a greasemonster?

Booboosweet · 20/10/2021 22:50

Shockoh my god, treat the nits!

Haggisfish3 · 20/10/2021 22:52

I would be yes-rather a greasy nit treater than not!

wateraddict · 20/10/2021 22:52

Vamoose is the best in our house!

Haggisfish3 · 20/10/2021 22:52

Because the shampoo makes your hair greasy despite many, many many shampooings.

Haggisfish3 · 20/10/2021 22:53

Nitty gritty comb is king!

Bedsheets4knickers · 20/10/2021 22:54

Night watch ????

Sickoffamilydrama · 20/10/2021 22:54

Shampoo your hair tonight a few times then do it again in the morning.

October2020 · 20/10/2021 22:55

Wash your hair with fairy liquid afterwards. Twice. Back to normal and no nits!

Feetupteashot · 20/10/2021 22:57

I have done nitty gritty to check which is how I found some

They are so grim but yes, took about a week for hair to go back to normal after last nit treatment

Eurgh!

Treat the nits, wear a hat.

Feetupteashot · 20/10/2021 22:57

@October2020 this is a possibility

Nits

Forgot about those pesky things

Double wash with daily liquid.
Then normal shampoo
Avoid conditioner

Dry shampoo on top ?
And maybe a hat if desperate

Strangevipers · 20/10/2021 23:03

Fairy not daily

hotmeatymilk · 20/10/2021 23:05

Hedrin leave-in mousse. All day. Yes it’s greasy. But luckily it’s autumn so you need a beanie hat. Boil wash the hat after.

ponkydonkey · 20/10/2021 23:08

I keep getting nits... I'd be your friend 😂

I have learnt to cut my sons hair very short and use lots of slippery conditioner

Enterifyoudare · 20/10/2021 23:08

@wateraddict

Vamoose is the best in our house!
Definitely agree, vamoose works a treat.

Alternatively, colouring your hair with permanent dye will nuke all of the little fuckers and keep those pesky grey hairs away too Wink

TaraR2020 · 20/10/2021 23:10

Turban your head with a scarf, add some jingly jewellery- you'll be a sensation!

skyblueone · 20/10/2021 23:15

Oh my god @Feetupteashot, how funny you should post this tonight. I think I have them too, me and dd. I feel like there's a million in my hair but have actually only found something (1) that I think is a louse. They're so small and my eyes aren't what they used to be! I think I've found 2 in dds hair aswell as some nits. I've had to come to bed to stop myself from looking.

Angrynellie · 20/10/2021 23:35

Do it overnight and sleep on a towel. Then wash your hair one million times in the morning!

ginnybag · 21/10/2021 00:39

Put the fairy liquid on your head dry. Let it sit for a few minutes, then add a small amount of water and thoroughly rub it in.

Rinse, and repeat. Then shampoo and condition.

Catflapkitkat · 21/10/2021 01:00

Wear a hat, don't take it off

BookFiend4Life · 21/10/2021 02:24

Mayo??

hotmeatymilk · 21/10/2021 06:26

Porridge??

Vamoose did bugger all for us, just gave the nits a brief change of scenery. They were laughing at me.

Feetupteashot · 21/10/2021 16:37

Hygiene prevailed. Only one bloody nit but am treated at least
