Won't go into lots of detail but our primary age son has been subjected to vicious physical and verbal bullying since the beginning of term. It started off gradually then increased to daily kicking including to the Head, punching in stomach, calling him cruel names, inciting others to also punch him.

Teacher is minimising it, hasn't followed their anti bullying plan by investigating it, telling him to stop telling tales.

I have a log of every incident and my mother who is a former teacher is accompanying me.

Anything else I should say?

Unacceptable to so clearly fob you off! Honestly if this is the Heads attitude there is a slim chance it will change. Would you consider moving schools?

As a headteacher - first ask, nicely, for their version of what is happening. It is perfectly possible this is the first the HT knows of it if the child's class teacher either (i) has been sweeping it under the carpet or (ii) thinks they've actually resolved it but haven't really. I think when approaching the individual HT for the first time, the advice in many of these posts is pretty strong. The class teacher hasn't dealt with it, now you are asking the HT to. Give them a chance.

And if that doesn't work, then follow all of the advice above.

Thanks all. Son won't hear of moving schools, he has been there since nursery and has possible asd so would find that a huge upheaval.

There have been no further incidents since our meeting so hopefully strong words have been had and it will continue to improve. If not i'll be back!
