Seriously broody and my DC1 is only 9mo.

Please tell me all the reasons I should wait a while! I know we need to - my periods haven't returned and I'm still breastfeeding for one - and had a terrible physical recovery after a traumatic birth - and I have a terrible sleeper in my firstborn 🙈 but still trying to talk myself Out of wanting to try again as soon as I'm ovulating again!

I think we will try for number two next summer but I need some reasons to hang on until then 🤣

I wanted another when DD was 4 months! Hormones I assume.

They are 2 years apart and works well. DH and I both 18 months from sibling so that sort of gap seemed right iyswim.

I've known a couple of people small gap. Trying to remember. I want to say 2 under 1 but sure that's not right! Two under 2 prob.

They were run ragged when the kids were little.

Up to you obv!

What's difficult is both at more or less same stage. So not do much one little one goes pre school a bit so time with baby alone/ a bit of s break.
Ditto school.
One friend had VERY lively toddlers and it looked like a nightmare. Well and she said it was.

However. Plenty do it. What does partner say?

Mine are 21 months apart. I wish I had waited a bit longer. In part because No.2 turned out to also be No.3, meaning I had 3 kids under 2.

But also because my eldest was still such a baby when they were born. I don’t think I had realised how much they grow up between 20-24 months. We coped and they’re all fine now, they play so well together and are besties when not trying to kill each other. But it was so hard on us and on my eldest in the early days. Even if it hadn’t been twins, I think if I could do it again I’d want my eldest to have turned 2 already.

Thanks everyone lots of good info here!

I think for my husband it's far too soon and he wants our baby to be a bit older so probably don't have a choice but to wait a while anyway and also physically my body isn't ready for another pregnancy just yet..

But it's nice to dream.

I wasn't broody at ALL before DC1! Babies do funny things to you!

I was the same.

Ended up with ds3 arriving when ds2 was 12 months.
