He was asked to come in and fix a hot tap which he did.

He decided that our hot water was too hot so took it upon himself to turn the immersion heater down and the thermo bit broke ''because it's so old''.

Now we can't regulate the temp any more. The water is not hot enough for my liking and we can't turn it up.

WWYD? I mean - who pays for the replacement/repair?

Some of the ones suggested by other posters sound pompous and arsey

Always the case with MN suggested texts.

UPDATE for anyone interested.

There was no answer to the message and i was considering messaging his semi-retired father about it instead.

However - when i opened the door to go pick up DD earlier he was there on the doorstep ready to knock! He held up the spare part and said happily ''i've come to fix it!''.

I left him to get on with it and it was all done and he was sitting back in his van outside by the time i got home. Fab.

(Only thing is he has pulled every last mortal item off all the airing cupboard shelves and thrown them across the landing. I mean ... Hmm hey ho)

If i get a bill for it i will be back to for advice on how to address the issue. But at the moment i'm a happy bunny :)
