To be done with this term, and endless bugs

It's half term next week and I've just worked out that there hasn't been a single week this half term where both my children have been in their educational settings for a whole week.

Endless viral illnesses, colds, stomach bugs, tonsillitis. When will it end?

I only have two children, and I am a SAHM. I can manage, but I have chronic health issues myself and obviously I am picking up all these shitty bugs too, despite everyone necking Sambucol like brandy. I should take out shares in Calpol.

I have absolute sympathy for working parents, and large families, how are you managing?

It's not good if you have children with compromised immune systems, or learning disability. I'm afraid that's privilege talking @Lightswitch123

When my DS is ill with anything more than a cold he refuses to eat, drink or take any medicine. He's seven, autistic and very strong. My DH and I have to restrain him and force fluids or meds into him. It's traumatic for everyone involved. Very often we end up being admitted to hospital for IV meds and fluids.

So no, sorry, it's not good that our kids are all encountering three years worth of bugs in one go. Not for all kids.

Yes, My 3 year old DS is catching everything going at nursery and we’re all getting ill. I’m also 8 weeks pregnant and have awful morning sickness at the same time.

Same here OP, you have my sympathies. This is week 6 now of snot and cough for ds, Dd has covid, I have a nasty chest infection and been threatened with hospital three times so far. I'm exhausted, the dc are exhausted and bored, I'm despairing at the state of the house but haven't the energy to do more than load and unload the dishwasher and make sure we gave clean pjs and underwear. This time last year was bad enough but this is something else.
