To still feel anxious about overseas travel

We had a short break to Rome booked for half term but postponed it until next year as still feel quite anxious about covid. Sticking to a few days in a U.K. city instead.

Friend thinks we are bonkers - they are going to Greece at half term.

Aibu? Am I the only one still anxious about overseas travel in terms of covid? I mean you could argue given the rates here that we are more at risk here but I was worried about getting stuck overseas. I know the rules have slightly changed now but it still doesn’t feel like everything is back to normal.

But maybe I am the only one thinking that!!

YANBU. I cannot take the risk of being stuck abroad for another 10 days (or more, depending on how quickly one can get a flight afterwards). I won't be travelling abroad until more normality has resumed.

Covid rates are much higher here, though travelling on a plane full of Brits might be what concerns you.

I went on the train down to London for a couple of days last week, my first time on a train since Covid. I was appalled by the lack of mask-wearing, though it was much better on the tube. However, even there it was no better than about 75%.

I fear we're on the road to being persona non grata with other nations again soon...

YNBU I would not want to travel abroad and be struck down by covid19. At home at least I know how to access healthcare

I'm not ready yet. Too much of a faff. Off to North Wakes tomorrow, haven't been there for years.
