Just really looking some experiences please. DP tested positive 10 days ago, DD two days later, ds then 6 days after that. So I'm the only one so far still negative. Both me and DP double jabbed. Just wondering am I doomed????Blush

Yes very true. Ok doomed might of been the wrong use of word but forgive me for feeling a little bit sorry for myself 🤣

@Ilikeviognier

Hard to say. I have it right now. Husband caught it first, then ds2. Then ds1 and finally me. So we all got it in the same stretch…..probably better to get it over with now rather than have it at Xmas I say.
Can I ask what the time frame was from your husband to you getting it?

I know a few households where one person has got it and it doesn’t spread. The key thing they seem to do is isolate the positive people, air and wipe down a lot.

Aquamarine1029 · 15/10/2021 20:09

Doomed? Dramatic much? Hmm

RubyJam · 15/10/2021 20:13

Everyone in my house got it except me
DC and DP all got it in stages
Everyone was fine
Older DC no symptoms
Younger DC bad cough and wanted cuddles and reassurance so I cuddled and hugged and slept with them , just assumed I was going to get it so carried on as normal being a normal cuddly kissy Mum.

It completely passed me by.
( Had two negative PCR tests during time everyone else had it and all home lateral flow tests since neg too )

Dogknowsbest · 15/10/2021 20:19

If you don't get it, it probably means you had it and didn't know you had it. I've been around people testing positive from the beginning yet I've never tested positive.

121gigawatts · 15/10/2021 20:25

I tested positive in January and ended up in hospital with covid pneumonia. My husband did not leave my side before I went to hospital as I was also heaviily pregnant, both my parents who we were living with also tested positive and both ended up in hospital too, yet my husband tested negative the whole time and afterwards. He was tested numerous times when our baby was delivered by the hospital, so they were PCR tests not lateral flows which I personally believe are rubbish! He was also exposed in the summer too when my FIL had tested positive before a routine operation, he had no symptoms so DH had been visiting etc and DH again escaped! Other than being pregnant i was fit and healthy, my dad very fit and healthy, my mum not so much yet we all still ended up in hospital. DH is very fit, but still I would have at least expected him to be asymptomatic postive, but no, nothing. It is a very, very strange virus!

Geriatric1234 · 15/10/2021 20:30

My DSC had Covid. DP and I were in house with them for over a week and we never tested positive. X

Suzi888 · 15/10/2021 20:32

Are you testing? How do you know you haven’t already?

catthatgotthecream · 15/10/2021 20:38

I've had 2 PCR day 2 and day 8. Been doing lateral flow In-between.

Do not worry it's seems to be a very random virus.
I am not vaccinated.
I have been exposed several times in my job. Have worked through the pandemic in a hospital. Had 3 of my family members test positive at different times. And also been to festivals and cities amongst lots of people.
I don't have antibodies. I've obviously been lucky so far. But you're not doomed to get it if you are exposed to it

HowardNoir · 15/10/2021 20:49

Dh had it bad and I didn't. I'm unvaccinated and CEV and still managed to get away with no symptoms and continous negative tests.

junebirthdaygirl · 15/10/2021 21:07

I had it a few weeks ago ..fully vaccinated.. but my dh and ds who lives at home didn't get it.
I was in contact with about 10 people at one event. We all got it except one person who had absolutely no evidence of being any healthier than the rest of us. We were all vaccinated except one person.

SarahBellam · 16/10/2021 11:48

I shared a house with my son who had it. I sat next to a man at a graduation ceremony for two hours and he tested positive the next day - so I was getting it on both sides - didn't get it. A friend's student daughter shared a house with 7 other people. They all got it except her. I'm not convinced it's inevitable.

catthatgotthecream · 16/10/2021 12:08

All of these experiences are really interesting! Thanks for sharing! Honestly doomed was meant light heartedHalo

Most people I know who've had covid, their family members or partner didn't catch it - including my husband.

catthatgotthecream · 23/10/2021 22:57

Just an update, I remained negative and never caught it. DS isolation ended today so back to some normality for us all x

Paddingtonthebear · 23/10/2021 23:02

Update here also, my isolation ends tomorrow, husband’s ended a couple of days ago, DD never caught it

So strange how one person can escape. Hope you are both feeling better and good news your DD didn't get it.

Please try not to worry. I am a lone parent my DD tested positive on Sunday. We have had cuddles, kisses and slept in the same bed. She tested negative tonight (LFT), I am double jabbed and absolutely fine.
