Burnout recovery.Am I still doing too much ?

My therapist suggested my depression and anxiety is due to burnout from my long hours.
This makes sense as I left on job exhausted to start a new one 5 yrs ago.The schedule is relentless, evenings, weekends Xmas,Easter .
Up at 7 home at 1030,erratic meal times no connection to other people.
It was ok at first as I suffered a bereavement so it gave me focus. In lockdown I gave up alcohol, went more sugar free and lost weight.
Coloured my hair a vibrant colour which I received lots of compliments on.
Now I'm having refresher driving lessons, doing light weight training all while still working looking to leave when I can drive again.
I still feel flat though. As a previously hyper active person I can't feel anything.
I know when I can get away from my toxic work environment I will be re energised.
Am I missing anything to help me recover.
Thanks in advance.

Can’t you ask to work part/time, then? Put in a formal flexible working request.

When are you going to job hunt if you’re always working?

Canii · 15/10/2021 12:19

You earn slightly above minimum wage!? Fuck that. Get a new job ASAP they are exploiting you.

WhenISnappedAndFarted · 15/10/2021 12:20

Just above min wage? Fuck that. Find another job.

I'm presuming you are in care work based on your hours and wages. If so, just quit OP. You can walk into something better as and when you feel ready.

It's all well and good doing all of this other stuff, but if work is the issue, its never going to get better until you leave.

Bluntness100 · 15/10/2021 12:29

Yes I was thinking care too based on low pay and Long hours, or potentially supermarket work.

Have you looked into whether you have ADHD or ADD? There is a thread about it recently. Its just its not so obvious in females as males. There is something called hyper focus where the person switches into top gear so they can get things done but it leaves them exhausted. Do you find you are great at planning somethings but rubbish at planning others? Are you by nature a messy person? Being messy is a significant sign post.

whatisforteamum · 15/10/2021 13:49

I have wondered if I have ADHD I can do a million things at once and I do get hyperfocused on things and frustrated when others are so slow.
I am not messy though.Quite the opposite.
